How To Cook Bens Original Parboiled Long Grain Rice
1. Stove Top
Combine 1 cup of Uncle Ben's Converted Rice (Ben's Original Parboiled Long Grain White Rice) with 2-1/4 cups of water in a medium saucepan.
Place the saucepan on the stove and bring the rice and water mixture to a boil over high heat.
Once it reaches a boiling point, reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan. Allow the rice to simmer for approximately 20 minutes.
After the cooking time, take the saucepan off the stove, but do not remove the lid. Let the rice rest at room temperature for about 5 minutes. If the rice hasn't fully absorbed the water, leave it for an additional 3 minutes and then check again.
To serve, gently fluff the rice with a fork before enjoying your meal.
2. Microwave OvenIn a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 cup of Uncle Ben's Converted Rice (Ben's Original Parboiled Long Grain White Rice) with 2-1/4 cups of water.
Cover the bowl using a microwave-safe lid or plate and microwave on high for 8 minutes.
After 8 minutes, take out the bowl, stir the rice, and then return it to the microwave.
Continue microwaving the rice on medium power (50 percent) for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, stirring the rice every 5 minutes.
Once most of the water has been absorbed, remove the bowl from the microwave.
Cover the bowl and let the rice stand at room temperature for 5 minutes. If the rice hasn't fully absorbed the water, allow it to stand for another 3 minutes and check again.
Before serving, gently fluff the rice with a fork.
Important Tips:
- This method yields enough rice for four 1-cup servings.
- Avoid rinsing the rice before or after cooking, as doing so may cause loss of vitamins.
- Keep in mind that the required microwave cooking time may vary depending on the model you're using.

Long Grain Ben’s Original
The best rice. Suits for every meal with rice. Best way, boil the rice in chicken stock. I cook usually more, than needed and take the rest for a the next day as a rice salad with corn peas, red capsicum.

Ben's Original Long Grain Parboiled Rice
Ben’s Original Parboiled Long Grain Rice is the best rice ever and I’ve been eating it for 59 years. It has the nutritional benefits of brown rice because it’s been parboiled. The flavour is amazing because it has the nuttiness of brown rice but not the blandness of white rice. The texture is perfect because, when cooked correctly, it’s not mushy on the inside or tough on the outside having had the husk removed after parboiling. It’s easy to cook with a large margin of error. I boil a cup of this rice in a large saucepan with 2 litres of water for 18 to 23 minutes and it comes out exactly the same every time. Do not wash this rice either before or after cooking because the parboiling has stabilized the rice and the starch. It has a very long storage potential because parboiling has destroyed any eggs or mites that exist in normal packaged uncooked rice. I’ve stored it for up to 3 years at home in Glad Snap Lock Bags, not the zip or slide variety, and it has always tasted great.
