A Straightforward Method To Make Yeast Raised Donuts
Bakels Yeast raised doughnut mix is a pre-mixed doughnut mix making it quick and easy for you to make your very own delectable yeasted doughnuts just like Krispy Kreme. Yeasted doughnuts have a lighter texture and flavour, which gives them a deliciously soft chew unlike cake donuts which are denser and made with sweetened cake dough leavened with the help of Baking Powder.
Ingredients:
- Bakels Yeast Raised Donut Mix 1kg
- Bakels Instant Active Dried Yeast 14g
- Water (Variable) 475g
Method:
1.
Combine all ingredients and mix on slow speed for 3 minutes.
2. Mix for approximately 7-8 minutes on fast speed.
3. Dough should be well-developed.
4. Rest dough 10 minutes

Sheet dough to a thickness of 10mm ready for cutting.
6. Shake down the final sheeted dough to relieve tension within the dough,
hence reducing shrinkage.
7. Place dough on a lightly floured bench and rest dough for further 5 minutes.
8. Cut into 60g rings or 70g balls.
9. Place on a tray ready for proofing donuts at 35°C, 50-60% RH for
approximately 1hr.15 min (until fully proofed).
10. Leave outside at room temperature uncovered for approximately 15 minutes to
allow surface moisture to dry off.
11. Fry donuts in vegetable oil at 180-190°C until golden brown on both sides
12. Allow to cool before decorating
Please Note: Water quantity can be adjusted slightly in between 450g and 510g per kg of premix depending on desired dough consistency and donut crumb softness.
Decorating:
Sprinkle with Bakels cinnamon sugar for a traditional donut everyone loves, use Bakels Donut Glaze for a Krispy Kreme style donut, Bakels Soft White Fondant or Bakels Chocolate Ganache.
